MARCHES 4X4 ANNOUNCES FINAL ROUND

OF BORC TO TAKE PLACE IN RADNOR FOREST

Stud Farm in Bleddfa set to host thrilling final round of BORC

Kershaw, Lewis and Monaghan set for gripping battle in Wales

NEWTOWN (Wales): Marches 4×4 Motorsport Management Limited, the organisers of the 2007 Matador Tyres MSA British Off-Road Championship, have confirmed that the final round of the thrilling five-event series will take place in the Radnor forest complex in mid-Wales on October 28th-29th.

The event will be based at the Stud Farm in nearby Bleddfa, the venue for round two of the series earlier in the season and the location for the headquarters of the inaugural Baja GB in 2006. Event officials are expecting a bumper entry, including all the championship regulars still chasing honours in the overall BORC and Trophy categories.

Huddersfield’s Richard Kershaw currently holds a 10-point lead in the championship after taking a 12-second victory on the last round at the Sweet Lamb Rally Complex in September, but competitors will be permitted to drop their worst score out of five on this occasion and that will make the mathematical permutations that much more interesting.

Abergavenny’s Keith Lewis and Preston’s Gordon Monaghan are Kershaw’s closest challengers, but the outcome is sure to go down to the very last forest stage run in Radnor forest on Sunday, October 28th. No less than 45 drivers have scored points so far this season, highlighting the popularity of this form of national off-road motorsport.

County Durham’s David Brown and Burnley’s David Nutter should go head-to-head to decide the fate of the Trophy category, with Nutter currently holding a seven-point lead over his rival. Chorley’s Matt Lowe is a distant third, but cannot catch the leading duo.

Meanwhile, championship organisers have confirmed that television footage of the fourth round in Sweet Lamb will be shown on Motors TV at around 21.00hrs on Friday, October 12th on the Race & Rally UK programme.
