JONAS ANDERSSON WAS PRESENTED WITH THE F1H2O POLE POSITION TROPHY IN SHARJAH

Tuessday, December 19:  Team Sweden’s all-conquering Jonas Andersson was presented with the UIM F1H2O Pole Position Trophy and a watch from qualifying sponsor BRM Watches at the glitzy prize giving ceremony for the Grand Prix of Sharjah-Road to Sharjah on Khalid Lagoon.

The Swede completed a clean sweep of all four major awards in a season of UIM F1H2O World Championship races where he completely dominated after the opening round in Indonesia. The Pole Position Trophy, which was awarded on behalf of BRM by H2O Racing’s General Manager Raimondo di San Germano, came after the Swede had clinched a second UIM F1H2O World Championship title. It preceded Team Sweden winning the UIM Teams’ Championship for the first time the following day and Andersson edging out Ferdinand Zandbergen of the Sharjah Team for the F1H2O Fast Lap Trophy.

Only Team Abu Dhabi’s Shaun Torrente could have prevented Andersson from winning the pole position award for the best BRM Qualifying record of the season, but Andersson edged the American out of pole by 0.107 seconds. Jonas duly ended the season 23 points clear of his second-placed rival with Peter Morin of the China CTIC Team finishing third.
