2024 UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship

FRENCH CITY OF VICHY TO HOST EUROPEAN ENDURANCE AQUABIKE CHAMPIONSHIP IN LATE JULY

Sunday, April 28: Aquabike Promotion has today announced that the second round of this year’s UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship will also host the European Endurance Championship. The historic French spa city of Vichy will host round two of the European series and the Endurance round on July 26th-28th.

The race will be hosted by Vichy O’Sport in the second largest city in the Auvergne region under the management of Gilles Poret, an experienced and enthusiastic Frenchman with a passion for jet-ski racing. Poret is the father of Mickael, Jeremy, Morgan and Estelle Poret, four regular competitors in both the UIM-ABP World and European Continental Aquabike Championships.

Additional support for the Grand Prix weekend comes from the City of Vichy and the FFM.

Vichy is a popular spa and resort city and an excellent venue for water sports with the racing action taking place on the River Allier, the source of which comes from the nearby Massif Central plateau near Clermont-Ferrand. It is better known for its famous spring water and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the ‘Great Spa Towns of Europe’ category in 2021.

French legend Jean-Bruno Pastorello is the reigning UIM-ABP World Endurance Champion. He beat 21 rivals to the world crown during three races on Lake Toba in Indonesia last November. Aquabike Promotion will be hoping that the European round in Vichy proves just as popular to the event in Sumatra that attracted endurance racers from a dozen nations.
