2025 UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship

ENTRIES START TO FLOOD IN FOR EUROPEAN AQUABIKE SEASON’S OPENER IN POLAND

Thursday, May 8: The countdown is on to the opening round of the 2025 UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship in Poland on May 30th-June 1st.

Race officials have already received the first batch of entries for the annual curtain-raiser, which will be based out of the village of Ostrów Warcki and held on the nearby Jeziorskomeer (reservoir) in Sieradz County. This is part of the Łódź Voivodeship in central Poland.

The championship’s opening weekend sees a packed racing schedule, hosting Runabout GP1, GP2, and GP4, Runabout Ladies GP4, Runabout Junior GP4, Runabout Veterans GP1, Ski GP1, GP2, GP3, and GP4, Ski Ladies GP1, Ski Juniors GP3.2 and GP3.3 and Freestyle.

The latest list of registered entrants already includes numerous riders, with Polish organisers expecting numbers to be boosted over the next couple of weeks in the build up to registration and technical scrutineering on Thursday, May 29th.

Several top names already grace the Ski Division GP1 field, with the likes of Frenchman Morgan Poret relishing the challenge of competing against the likes of the ever-improving Belgian Yoni Hamelin, Dane Oliver Koch Hansen, and the talented young Estonian Ander Hubert-Lauri.

Benedicte Drange returns to begin the defence of her European Ski Ladies GP1 crown against the likes of Joana Graça and Naomi Benini, while Manuel Leite will be chasing honours in both the Ski Division GP2 and GP3 categories. Young Frenchman Maxime Arthebise and Hungary’s Leo Keite are the first two Junior entrants to register.

Portugal’s Lino Araùjo heads the early Runabout GP1 entrants along with the likes of Czech Petr Dryjak, local rider Kamil Fadrowski, and the Italian duo of Manuel Reggiani and Mattia Pagio. Dryjak is also competing in Runabout GP2 against Tom Claerhout and Fábio Costa.

The 2023 European Runabout Ladies GP4 champion Nikola Dryjakova faces the Estonian duo of Kätriin Nilbe and Ester Rosin, Germany’s Michelle Dimov, Italy’s Ilaria Vanni, and French girl Alizée Vanden Blecken on the initial list of entrants.

The Italian pairing of Aurora Filiberti and Ayrton Cerere will compete for Runabout Junior GP4 honours, while the defending European Champion Roberto Mariani returns to defend his Freestyle title against the likes of Thomas Wolf, Paulo Nuñes, and Massimo Accumolo.

Additional support for the weekend’s racing comes from Aquabike Promotion, Taurus Sea Power, the Minister of Sport and Tourism, and the Polish Motorboat and Water Ski Association.
