JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS FOR BEERNAUT, KETE AND VAINIO IN HUNGARY

Sunday, August 3: The 2025 Ski GP3.2 and Ski GP3.3 Junior World Championships and the Runabout GP4 Junior World Championship reached their conclusion at the Grand Prix of Hungary, near Győr, on Sunday afternoon.

Talented young Belgian racer Milo Beernaut and Hungarian youngster Leo Kete prevailed in their respective Ski GP3.2 and Ski GP3.3 Junior championships and Finland’s Jose Vainio became Runabout GP4 Junior world champion.

Beernaut seals Ski Junior GP3.2 World Championship title with Moto 3 win

Belgian rider Milo Beernaut headed into the last of the Ski GP3.2 World Championship Motos with an eight-point lead over Topi Järvenpää and Noam Bíró Santos.

Santos made the best start and the Hungarian led Järvenpää and Beernaut through the opening exchanges and began to extend his advantage. Beernaut knew that the hard work had already been done and third place would net him the World Championship title. Nonetheless, he managed to pass Järvenpää to snatch second and started to nip away at the Hungarian’s lead.

The Belgian snatched the lead on lap five and romped to a 11.47-second win to seal the world title with Santos finishing second ahead of Järvenpää, who stopped four laps from the end of the final Moto.

Ski Junior GP3.3 World Championship win and Moto 3 success for Kete

Local rising star Leo Kete started the third of the Ski Junior GP3.3 World Championship Motos with an eight-point lead over Marvin Bohuslav and Ali Al-Ali. But Al-Ali made the first move and snatched the advantage from Bohuslav, Kete, Maxime Arthebise, Pelle Stenborg and Aksel Rauhansalo.

The Emirati led by 3.04 seconds after the opening lap, although the heat win would not be enough to win the title with Kete holding a solid third place. Then Kete moved up to second with Arthebise also passing Bohuslav to take third place.

Kete began to apply the pressure on Al-Ali in the closing stages of the Moto and he pipped the UAE-based racer to the Moto win by 1.30 seconds to earn the World Championship title in style. Al-Ali and Arthebise rounded off the Moto podium and Al-Ali and Bohuslav finished second and third in the World Championship.

Vainio confirms Runabout GP4 Junior World Championship

Finland’s Jose Vainio lined up for Moto 3 as the clear favourite to win the Runabout GP4 Junior World Championship title. He needed to defend an eight-point advantage over Rihard Leinsalu and Aurora Filiberti.

The Finn made an excellent start and took the lead from Filiberti, Leinsalu, Ayrton Cecere, Katarina Sepp, Adas Zalagaitis, Francesco Bassenghi and Kimily Lepp. He held on through the duration of the Moto to seal the World Championship title and take victory in the Moto by 3.28 seconds.

Filiberti and Leinsalu rounded off the podium places and the runner-up spot enabled Filiberti to finish second in the World Championship ahead of Leinsalu. Sepp and Lepp both hit turn buoys and were docked one lap apiece, the penalties enabling Cecere, Zalagaitis and Bassenghi to finish fourth, fifth and sixth ahead of the Estonian duo.
