AQUABIKE PROMOTION ANNOUNCES 2026 UIM-ABP EUROPEAN AQUABIKE CHAMPIONSHIP CALENDAR

Thursday, February 19: Aquabike Promotion today announces the 2026 UIM-ABP European Continental Aquabike Championship calendar with three Grand Prix in Portugal, Hungary and France.

The season gets underway with the Grand Prix of Portugal, which will be organised by the FPM in Barrinha da Praia in the town of Mira in the country’s central coastal region on July 3rd-5th. For the third consecutive year, Mira reaffirms its position as an international reference in water sports, highlighting the unique natural conditions of its lagoon and coastline.

Riders then face a trip to eastern Europe for the second round in Hungary on July 17th-19th, where the single-round Aquabike Junior World Circuit Championship will take place alongside the European Championship races. Young riders will compete in the Ski GP3.2, Ski GP 3.3 and Runabout GP4 categories.

The closed-course event will be held for the third time in Győrzámoly, the largest village in the Szigetköz, a beautiful natural region in northwestern Hungary, just six kilometres from downtown Győr, the capital of Győr-Moson-Sopron County.

The Freestyle discipline has been held in Győr at the Danube-Rába confluence in front of the Kossuth Bridge for the last two seasons and will continue for a third year. The highlight of the festival will be the annual lantern boat parade on the river to close out the event, led by Sea-Doo Hungary and the freestyle riders.

The final round of the European Championship will again visit the town of Vichy on the Allier River in France on September 3rd-6th. This action-packed three-day finale to the European racing season will see the 2026 European champions crowned, bringing a close to the 2026 European racing calendar.

Raimondo di San Germano, CEO of Aquabike Promotion, said: “We are delighted to announce another challenging European Aquabike Championship calendar consisting of three world-class events in Portugal, Hungary and France. These Grand Prix have been extremely well supported over the last couple of seasons and, with interest in the aquabiking discipline at an historic high, we are confident that we will see record entries across the various European Championship classes this year.
